Ojukwu's son speaks on Nnamdi Kanu's Biafra agitation

- Chief Debe Ojukwu said Nnamdi Kanu has the right to agitate for Biafra

- He however said he must stop infringing on the rights of others

- He warned IPOB to stop blocking roads in the name of protests

Chief Sylvester Debe Ojukwu, the eldest son of the late Biafran warlord, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu has called on Nnamdi Kanuto stop impeding on the right of others.

In an interview with The Sun, the son of the Biafra warlord said that although the leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) has the right to agitate for Biafra, he must stop making lives of ther miserable.

On where Kanu is going wrong, Ojukwu said: “It’s the seeming disregard for the rights of others. If you agitate, fill up the roads, block the roads, you are impeding on peoples right of movement, you are trampling on the rights of others. I have always said that.

“If you are protesting peacefully, you can go to the stadium, you can go to a public place, get a police permit to do that and then get the media houses to record you and expose it to the whole world for viewing.”

Responding to question about whether Kanu has filled the shoes left by his father, he said: “Like I told you, I cannot go into that, I’m not saying his shoes are too big or not and I cannot subscribe to the notion that my father failed to groom a successor.

“At a point, he always said he had no successor. He said he had a good plan but that he was looking for a successor.”

Meanwhile, IPOB is instituting a suit against the Nigeria Police Force for allegedly parading some suspects with the Biafran insignia in Anambra state.

IPOB, in a statement by Emma Powerful in Awka, Anambra state, its spokesperson, said it had instructed its lawyer, Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor, to go to court against the police.
