1. President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday said that he invited Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to London, United Kingdom, to thank him for the way he ran the country while he was away on medical leave. Buhari stated this in a meeting with State Governors held at the President Villa in Abuja. According to Buhari, Osinbajo used his intellect to administer the country which prompted him to invite him over to thank him personally. “The efforts by the vice president are commendable.  He used his intellect to run all over the place. I was seeing him 24 hours on NTA. I congratulate him. I allowed him to come and see me to thank him personally for what he has done,” said Buhari
2. Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State on Friday was honoured with the chieftaincy title of Apesin Apogun P’ote, by the Ewi of Ado Ekiti, Oba Rufus Adeyemo Adejugbe. Alhaji Ibrahim Dankwambo, the Governor of Gombe State and his wife Hajiya Ummi Adama, were honoured with Akinmuagun and Yeye Akinmuagun chieftaincy titles respectively.
3. The Leadership of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) said that the withdrawal of quit notice order by the Arewa Youths is inconsequential. IPOB’s position was revealed in a statement issued by Emma Powerful, the groups Media Publicity Secretary in Enugu on Friday. “It is inconsequential to IPOB whether the ‘quit notice’ rescinded or not because it will in no way impact the pace and direction of our effort to restore Biafra. We urge all southerners in the core north to return home before October 1 as history will most definitely repeat itself.”
