My son doesn't want any war - Nnamdi Kanu's father says

Nigerians reveal which brother will survive after PSquare’s break up

Following the news that music duo Peter and Paul Okoye aka PSquare have broken up, Nigerians have taken to social media to reveal which of the brothers they think will ‘make it’ as a solo artiste. This is not to say that there are not others who feel Paul who is known to be responsible for a lot of the group’s songs is not without his supporters. On the contrary, a large number feel his musical skills guarantee him success as a solo artiste. Nnamdi Kanu: Charly Boy Criticises Nigerian Govt

The Nigerian musician, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has condemned the deployment of soldiers to the hometown of controversial separatist leader, Nnamdi Kanu. Charly Boy, leader of the ‘OurMumuDonDo’ movement said the federal government should be more worried about safeguarding lives and properties than destroying it. He said this in a statement signed by him, Adeyanju Deji, leader of Concerned Nigerians and Adebayo Raphael, Publicity Secretary, OurMumuDonDo Movement. IPOB: US, UK, AI call for caution, seek end to clash

South East governors at the meeting in Enugu Eniola Akinkuotu, Adelani Adepegba and Olaleye Aluko The United States Government, the United Kingdom and the President of Uganda have called for caution and an end to the violence in parts of the South-East region, occasioned by reported clash between military troops and members of the Indigenous People of Biafra in Abia State. In separate statements on Friday, they called on Nigerians to eschew violence and respect the rule of law. Also, the Amnesty International has called on the Federal Government to ensure that the military did not use “excessive force” in the region, saying it was already investigating allegations of human rights violation. The Nigerian Army had during the week deployed soldiers in the South-East under an operation code-named, ‘Operation Python Dance’, which seeks to curb violent crimes within the region. Police Arrest Notorious Kidnappers, Others

Police have arrested 31 suspected members of  notorious  kidnapper and armed robbery gangs terrorising travellers along the Abuja–Minna and Abuja–Kaduna highways. The suspects, including their leader, one Hussaini Mohammed who is also known as ‘General Maigemu Sambisa’, were paraded by the Force Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Moshood, on Tuesday at Dikko in Niger State. Some of the suspects paraded are Adamu Hussaini, Bala Mohammed, Hassan Hashimu, Ibrahim Badamasi, Babangida Hamza, Umaru Abubakar, and Karo Ladan among others. Items recovered from them include four AK 47 rifles, two English Berretta pistols, two locally made pistols, five sets of army camouflage uniform and one international passport belonging to a kidnapped victim. Achimota Student Jailed 3 Years

Lily Donkor An 18-year-old Achimota Senior High School (SHS) student, who shot and killed his colleague, Lily Dzigbordi Asibetse Donkor, has been sentenced to three years’ imprisonment term by a juvenile court in Accra. The final-year student, who will be spending his jail term at the Correctional Home in Accra, was found guilty after almost a nine-month long trial. He was charged with manslaughter when he appeared before the court, presided over by Bernardine S A Senoo. The convict was said to have brought out his father’s gun from under a bed with intent to shoot into the air, but ended up killing his friend, Lily Donkor, who was also a third-year student at the same school. However, days after the verdict, some Ghanaians, including the bereaved family, appear to be concerned about the jail term slapped on the convict.
